Sri Lanka has two monsoons, so the best time depends on where you go. For the classic route — the Cultural Triangle, Kandy, hill country and the west and south coasts (Galle, Mirissa) — December to March is ideal. If you want the east coast (Trincomalee, Arugam Bay), May to September is best. The inter-monsoon months (April, October) can be pleasant island-wide. We route your trip to the sunshine.
